successes

Carl Ringvold senior member of the Kongelig Norsk Seilforening was in 1920 in Antwerp at the Olympic Games in the 8-meter class after the International Rule of 1907 Olympic champion . He was the skipper of the Irene , which participated as the only boat in its class. The Irene whose crew from Thorleif Holbye , Alf Jacobsen , Kristoffer Olsen and Tellef Wagle was, the achievement was enough for lack of competition in two races each of the target to win the gold medal.

At the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924 , Ringvold had four competitors in the 8-meter class. Already in the first race off Le Havre he qualified for the semifinals with the Béra , so that fourth place in the second race only had statistical value. In the third race, which was the first of two semi-finals, the Béra crossed the finish line first as well as in the fourth race. Ringvold became Olympic champion again, as did his crew Rick Bockelie , Harald Hagen , Ingar Nielsen and Ringvold's son Carl Ringvold junior .
