Carl Thiel (film composer)

Carl Johan Thiel (born November 30, 1965 in Mexico City ) is an American film composer .

Life

Carl Thiel grew up in a musical family. His Swedish father is a PhD musician and concert pianist who emigrated to Mexico. Thiel learned the piano at the age of six. He spent his school days at Trinity College School in Ontario. He studied music at the University of Texas at Austin and was able to establish himself as a composer for commercial music. He gained fame as a composer for the films directed by Robert Rodriguez such as Mission 3D , Machete Kills and Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For .
