Life

Carl Weyhe studied law at the University of Jena . In 1807 he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Jena , after having previously belonged to the old Saxonia Landsmannschaft , founded in 1768. After graduating, he entered the Prussian civil service. From 1823 to 1864 he was the district administrator for the district of Quedlinburg . In addition, he was the secret government councilor of the Aschersleben district from 1823 to 1865, since Quedlinburg was part of the Aschersleben district. In June 1833, Weyhe placed parts of the Teufelsmauer under protection, in particular the Königstein , in order to prevent the destruction of the striking rock formation in the course of rock mining. This decision is considered to be one of the first designations of an area with nature conservation in Germany.

At least between 1852 and 1878 he lived in the Kornmarkt 3 building in Quedlinburg.
