Carl Wilhelm Bangert

Carl Wilhelm Bangert , modernized Karl Bangert , (born January 8, 1883 in Frankfurt am Main , † November 4, 1952 in Chemnitz ) was a German physicist , telecommunications engineer and academy professor.

Life

He was the son of high school teacher Christian Louis Wilhelm (1852-1925) and his wife Auguste Helene Franziska, née Krauss (1858-1913). After attending grammar school in Frankfurt am Main, Carl Wilhelm Bangert studied at the universities of Berlin and Marburg . He received his PhD in 1907 in Marburg Dr. phil. He then became a scientific assistant in the telegraph research institute of the German Reich Post Office, and later laboratory manager at Siemens & Halske Aktiengesellschaft.

From 1918 until his dismissal after the end of the Second World War, Carl Wilhelm Bangert was a teacher at the Royal Saxon Trade Academy in Chemnitz , which later became the State Academy for Technology in Chemnitz. In 1920 he was appointed academy professor. He taught telecommunications technology, physics, electrical engineering, low-voltage technology, electricity and radio technology and has published several times on these topics.

On April 1, 1932, he joined the NSDAP and later the Federation of German Technicians. He was a member of the Association of German Engineers and the Association of German Electrical Engineers .

Carl Wilhelm Bangert spent his twilight years in Chemnitz. He lived first at Zschopauer Strasse 74, then at Salzstrasse 63 I.

On June 7, 1911, he married Toni Margarete nee Lohmann (* 1889). Their marriage resulted in a son born in 1914.
