Carl Wilhelm Overbeck
Carl Wilhelm Overbeck (born August 27, 1820 in Halle, Westphalia , † June 6, 1860 in Dresden ) was a German engraver of the Düsseldorf School .
Life
Overbeck studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1844 to 1848 . There he was trained in the art of copperplate engraving by Joseph von Keller . Overbeck worked as a reproduction engraver. He created devotional pictures for the Association for the Dissemination of Religious Images in Düsseldorf . Most recently he lived in Dresden.
