Carlo Alfano (born May 22, 1932 in Naples , † October 25, 1990 ) was an Italian painter and graphic artist .

life and work

Carlo Alfano studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli and became known for audiovisual projects in the late 1960s. Alfano was inspired by his literary and philosophical - anthropological interests, by Michel Foucault , Shakespeare , Cervantes , Marcel Proust , James Joyce and many others.

In 1969 Carlo Alfano began with the series “Frammenti di un autoritratto anonimo / Fragments of an anonymous self-portrait”, which he continued to work on throughout his life. Carlo Alfano recorded the passage of time with scriptural signs.
