Carlos Palau
Carlos Palau (born March 4, 1959 in Ripoll ) is a former Spanish racing car driver .
Racing career
Carlos Palau began his career as a motorcycle racing driver and switched to motor racing in 1991. This year he contested his first season in the Spanish Touring Car Championship , which he finished fifth overall in a Ford Sierra Cosworth (overall winner was Luis Pérez-Sala , who drove an Alfa Romeo 75 America ). He competed regularly in the Spanish touring car series in the 1990s. In 1992 the overall runner-up and 1993 overall third in the series.
He celebrated his greatest successes in the Spanish GT Championship , where he won the overall standings in 2001 after finishing third in 1999 and second in 2000 in a factory - Lister Storm .
He competed three times in the Le Mans 24-hour race . He had his best placement in 1994 when he reached eighth place in the overall standings and celebrated a victory in the GT2 class.
