Dominique Dupuy (born August 26, 1957 in Ars ) is a former French racing driver .

Career in motorsport

After starting out in karting , Dominique Dupuy's monoposto career began in 1983 in the French Formula Renault Championship , which he finished fourth overall. In 1984 he switched to the national Formula 3 championship . Dupuy drove in this championship until 1988; his placement in the final ranking was sixth overall in 1984 (overall winner Olivier Grouillard ).

In 1989 he switched to GT racing and became a regular participant in the Porsche Carrera Cup France. After finishing second overall behind Jean-Pierre Malcher in 1991, he secured the overall standings in 1992 and 1993. With his overall victories in 1997, 1998 and 1999, he became the most successful driver in this cup competition.

He celebrated further championship successes in the French GT championship in 2000 and 2001.

In 1996 Dupuy became a team member at Oreca and successfully drove the Chrysler Viper GTS-R . He celebrated two class wins at Le Mans in 1999 and 2000 ; In 2000 one at the Sebring 12-hour race . In 1999 he won two championship races of the FIA GT Championship and finished the season in fifth place. He celebrated his greatest success in an international sports car race in 2000 when he and Olivier Beretta and Karl Wendlinger won the 24-hour race at Daytona for Oreca that year .

His last racing season was in 2007 in the French GT Championship, which he finished 15th in the final standings.
