Carlos Renato Frederico , called Renato , (born February 21, 1957 in Morungaba , São Paulo ) is a former football player who played in attacking midfield.
Career
During his career he played with Guarani FC (1975–1980), São Paulo FC (1980–1984), Botafogo FR (1985), Atlético Mineiro (1986–1989), in Japan with Yokohama F. Marinos (1989–1992) and Kashiwa Reysol (1993), and later again in Brazil with AA Ponte Preta (1994–1996) and EC Taubaté (1997).
He won the Brazilian championship once (1978), the São Paulo state championship twice (1980, 1981), the Minas Gerais state championship twice (1986, 1988) and the Japanese championship once (1990).
Between July 1979 and October 1983 he played twenty-two times for Brazil and scored three goals. He was in the squad for the Soccer World Cup 1982 (without use) and for the Mundialito 1980/81, where Brazil came second.
