Carlos Tramútolo

Carlos Tramútolo , full name Carlos Alberto Tramútolo Navarro , (born March 17, 1925 in Montevideo , † July 9, 2013 in Minas ) was a Uruguayan cyclist .

Career

Tramútolo, who began his career in 1941 at the Montevidean Club Nimes , was part of the Uruguayan squad at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London . There he finished eleventh in the 1000 meter time trial on the track .

Track cyclist Tramútolo was Pan-American and South American champion in the speed disciplines. He set some kilometer records and became both Rioplatensian and Uruguayan champions. In Minas , the city in which he lived in an old people's home in 2011, the Gran Premio "Carlos Tramútolo" cycle race named in his honor took place at least that year .
