The Carlson Peak is a 1,290 m high mountain at the Orville Coast of the West Antarctic Ellsworthlands . It rises up as one of the Bean Peaks in the Hauberg Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it using its own surveys and aerial photographs by the United States Navy between 1961 and 1967. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountain in 1968 after Paul R. Carlson, a meteorologist at Byrd Station between 1965 and 1966.
