Carmen Dillon

Carmen Dillon (born October 25, 1908 in London -Cricklewood, † April 12, 2000 in Hove ) was a British architect and film architect at the high-class entertainment cinema.

Life

Carmen Dillon, one of the few women in (British) film architecture, was one of the most outstanding representatives of British cinema design. She had studied in her hometown of London architecture and incidentally worked as an actress in amateur plays and also the screenshots designed. She gained her first experience as an architect in various architectural offices in the British capital.

In 1934 Carmen Dillon came to film, where she began as assistant to the film architect Ralph Brinton . She was particularly active for the Two Cities and Rank companies . Dillon was able to gain her stage experience primarily with the building designs for Laurence Olivier's ambitious Shakespeare productions Heinrich V , Hamlet and Richard III. use; Films that instantly made Carmen Dillon famous.
