Carmen Winter

Carmen Winter (* 1963 in Wriezen ) is a German writer and poet .

Life

Carmen Winter grew up in the Oderbruch and graduated from high school in Bad Freienwalde . Until 1988 she studied German at the Humboldt University in Berlin . Then she took a job at the District Literature Center Frankfurt (Oder) as a research assistant with a focus on maintaining the regional literary heritage. Since then she has also been working as a journalist.

In 1990/91 she tried to found a publishing house. She then worked at the Frankfurter Kunstverein for the literature working group and for a year at the Kleist Museum in Frankfurt (Oder), where she dealt with the literary tourism project Märkische Dichterlandschaft . Here she was involved in the publication of the volume Märkische Dichterlandschaft. An illustrated literary guide by the Mark Brandenburg (DVA, Stuttgart 1998) involved.

From 1996 to 1998 she was responsible for the public relations work of the regional association Brandenburg Ost der Arbeiterwohlfahrt. From September 2000 to October 2002 she ran the Theater des Lachens in Frankfurt (Oder) together with Hermann Naehring . Here she initiated and supervised the Anne Frank program, among other things . A reading and wrote the text for the play My Midsummer Night's Dream .

Since January 1st, 1999 she has been working as a freelancer. Since 2002 she has published her literary work in magazines, anthologies and independent publications. Carmen Winter writes poetry, short prose and non-fiction books. Together with the percussionist Hermann Naehring, she performed concert readings for children and adults, for which she wrote the texts herself. The performances took place nationwide.

In addition, she leads workshops and courses on creative writing for children and adults, among others in cooperation with the association Schreibende Schüler eV and in her own writing workshop Sankt · Spiritus. Their workshops took place in Rheinsberg, Auschwitz and Loccum. She initiates cross-genre art projects such as the German-Polish street dictionary and teaches at the European University Viadrina .

Carmen Winter is a member of the Association of German Writers (VS) Brandenburg, the Brandenburg Literature College , the Friedrich Bödecker Circle and the Segeberger Circle - Society for Creative Writing eV and in the Society for Contemporary Poetry .
