Hermann Naehring
Hermann Naehring (born April 19, 1951 ) is a German percussionist , arranger and composer . He is known, among other things, for the LP Longing for Change , which he recorded in 1989 as a member of the band L'art de passage and which became the most successful jazz LP in the GDR .
Life
Hermann Naehring completed a music degree at the “Hanns Eisler” University of Music in Berlin , majoring in piano and percussion, as well as additional studies in Asian and Afro-American music.
After 10 years as a studio musician in the Berlin Radio Orchestra , he became a freelance percussionist. From 1973 to 1974 he was a member of the rock band Bread and Salt . Naehring played in symphony orchestras and in jazz bands, composed for radio plays, films and theater performances, for example for the pantomime ensemble of the Deutsches Theater Berlin, and cooperated with puppeteers, dancers and chanson singers. He played with musicians such as Ernst-Ludwig Petrowsky , Hannes Zerbe , Gerhard Schöne , Jens Naumilkat, Mikis Theodorakis , Tobias Morgenstern , Albrecht Riermeier , Hans-Günther Wauer and Warnfried Altmann .
From 1995 to 2002 he was involved in the Theater des Lachens in Frankfurt (Oder) . Later he ran a private drum school there. Hermann Naehring has worked on around 40 record productions and has twice received the Berliner Zeitung's critics' award . Naehring lives in a raincoat (Falkenhagen (Mark)) .

Hermann Naehring plays numerous percussion instruments of European, African and Asian origins. Constant crossings between the genres and within the music itself between the different styles, between serious and popular music, between jazz and international folk music are part of his work as a composer and percussionist.
