Carsten Wiebusch

Carsten Wiebusch (* 1969 in Göttingen ) is a German organist and church musician .

Live and act

Wiebusch studied church music at the Musikhochschule Düsseldorf with Hans-Dieter Möller , organ and Thomas Palm, piano, as well as organ with Jon Laukvik in Stuttgart and conducting with Ralf Otto at the Folkwanghochschule Essen .

From 1993 to 1999 he was the organist of the late romantic Walcker organ in Essen-Werden .

From 1999 to 2017 Carsten Wiebusch worked as cantor and organist at the Christ Church in Karlsruhe . There he directed the Karlsruhe Oratorio Choir at the Christ Church and the Chamber Choir of the Christ Church. Works from early music up to Schönberg's Friede auf Erden or Wolfgang Rihm's Deus Passus were performed .

With the inauguration of the new, expanded Klais organ in 2010, Carsten Wiebusch brought the organ cycle “Faszination Orgel” to life. There were also regular appearances as a pianist and piano accompanist. From 2000–2017 he taught an organ class at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe , 2013–2017 also at the Hochschule für Kirchenmusik Heidelberg . In 2013, Wiebusch was awarded the title of church music director by the Evangelical Church in Baden . In 2015 he was appointed professor at the Karlsruhe University of Music.

In 2017 he was appointed professor for organ at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts .
