Carsten van Ryssen

Carsten van Ryssen (born August 27, 1963 in Soest ) is a German comedian , journalist , presenter , author and actor who is currently employed as an outside reporter for the heute-show . Until 2007 he did street surveys for the magazine Polylux .

After his birth in 1963 van Ryssen grew up in Soest. After graduating from high school, he began a 15-month military service , after which he began studying at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg , which he later continued at the Free University of Berlin in the subject of political science . As a small wage, he worked at the same time at the Sender Freies Berlin . After the fall of the Berlin Wall , he wrote articles for the news magazine “Punkt 5” for two years. Later he signed up for a traineeship at TIP , but was poached by Tita von Hardenberg for the program Polylux . In January 2010, van Ryssen joined the ZDF heute-show team.
