The Cascade River is a left tributary of the Bow River in the Canadian province of Alberta .

The Cascade River is a river in the Canadian Rockies . The course of the river lies within Banff National Park . It rises on the north flank of Block Mountain . It is fed by the Bonnet Glacier . The Cascade River initially flows east, but then turns south, flowing through Stewart Canyon and flowing into the western end of Lake Minnewanka . The dammed lake is used to generate electricity. The water is diverted to Two Jack Lake , from where it flows through a canal and a pressure tunnel to a hydroelectric power station . The Cascade River finally flows into the Bow River 3 miles east of Banff . The Cascade River has a length of about 55 km.
