The Cascade River is a tributary of Lake Superior in the Thunder Bay District of the Canadian province of Ontario .
The Cascade River runs entirely within the Pukaskwa National Park on the north bank of Lake Superior . It rises in the central part of the national park. It initially flows south, then turns sharply to the east, makes another sharp change in direction and then flows in a predominantly south-westerly direction to its confluence with the Upper Lake. The Cascade River has a length of 45 km. Immediately before the estuary, it overcomes the Cascade Falls , a popular destination for kayakers who paddle along the coast.
