Casey Colby (born November 3, 1974 in Lake Placid , New York ) is a retired American ski jumper .

Career

Colby was part of the US national team from 1994 and initially jumped in the Continental Cup . After he was able to steadily improve his performance in his second season, he was nominated for the first competition in the ski jumping World Cup in 1996. He competed in his first jumping on February 17, 1996 in Iron Mountain . However, he was unsuccessful in the first two competitions and was only able to win his first World Cup points with an 11th place in Oslo in May .

At the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano , Colby came 42nd on the normal hill and 30th on the large hill. In team jumping he reached 12th place with Mike Keuler , Alan Alborn and Randy Weber .

After the Games Colby denied on 11 March 1998, or a World Cup competition in the Swedish Falun , which he finished in 22nd position, which in the points. At the end of the 1997/98 season he was in 75th place in the overall World Cup ranking.

Colby competed in jumping in the Continental Cup until 2002 , before he ended his active ski jumping career in 2002 due to a lack of success.
