Raymond "Randy" Weber (born May 22, 1977 in Steamboat Springs , Colorado ) is a former American ski jumper .

Career

Weber began his international career in 1993 in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup . On December 14, 1993 he made his debut in the Ski Jumping World Cup . In Predazzo , Italy , he was able to win World Cup points for the first time in 26th place. He also won two World Cup points with 29th place in the New Year's competition within the Four Hills Tournament 1993/94 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . Because of this development, he was part of the US contingent for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer . At the age of only 16 he reached the 44th place on the normal hill and 53rd place on the large hill. In the team competition he reached 11th place together with Greg Boester , Ted Langlois and Kurt Stein . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1995 in Thunder Bay , Canada , he jumped from the normal hill to 33rd and from the large hill to 46th place. The following World Cup season in 1995/96 was the most successful of his career. In Predazzo he achieved 6th place for the first time among the top ten and also the highest individual result of his career. At the end of the season he finished 52nd in the overall World Cup with 66 points. At the ski flying world championship in 1996 on the Kulm , he flew to 47th place. On December 8, 1997 he jumped in Villach for the last time in the World Cup and finished jumping on the normal hill in 48th place. Then he only jumped in the Continental Cup until the end of the season. Weber ended his active career when he started at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano . There he reached 49th place on the normal hill and 50th place on the large hill. In team jumping he reached 12th place together with Mike Keuler , Alan Alborn and Casey Colby .
