Castle Pook (also Castlepook , Irish Caisleán to Phúca , "Castle of Púca ") is the ruins of a Norman castle a few kilometers north of Doneraile in the foothills of the Ballyhoura Mountains in Irish County Cork . The castle was built around 1380 for the Synan ( Ó Sionáin ) family .

description

Castle Pook is built of limestone and its stone vaulted roof is still intact. Once there was a stone spiral staircase in the southwest corner. Much of the smooth stones used for stairs, window and door reveals were stolen by vandals.
