Casto José Alvarado

General Casto José Alvarado (* 1820 , † August 9, 1873 on the Río Chamelcon) was from January 1, 1843 to February 12, 1847 Minister in three government cabinets, which exercised the function of the head of state of Honduras .

Life

Casto José Alvarado was finance minister in the government cabinet of Francisco Ferrera .

When Ferrera was elected President from January 1, 1843 to February 23, 1843, the government cabinet made up of Foreign Minister , Juan Morales, Minister of War José Julián Tercero and Casto José Alvarado.

From January 1, 1845 to January 12, 1845 Alvarado led the affairs of state with Coronado Chávez , who was then President of Honduras.

From January 1, 1847 to February 12, 1847 Alvarado was with Francisco Ferrera and José Santos Guardiola Bustillo in a government cabinet which led the government until Juan Lindo took over the presidency .

Casto José Alvarado was also part of the government cabinet of José María Medina when it was overthrown in March 1872 by Carlos Céleo Arias López .

An amnesty was issued with the exception of Medina and its ministers Manuel Colinders and Rafael Padilla. For Crescencio Gómez , Máx Araujo, Casto Alvarado, Jesús Inetrosa, and a few others the amnesty applied; however, they were banned from Honduras until a new constitution came into force.

Under the government of Carlos Céleo Arias López , the US steamship Sherman reached the Caribbean coast of Honduras in 1873 from Puerto Limón , Costa Rica. He brought in exiles from Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador who tried to overthrow their respective governments. Casto José Alvarado was killed in an attack on the Río Chamelcon.
