Catharina Herdler

Catharina "Käthe" Herdler (born April 14, 1892 in Wartha , Frankenstein district ; † October 20, 1981 in Detmold ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Käthe Herdler was in a girls' high school and attended a teacher training college in Breslau until 1911 . She first worked as a teacher, later in school administration. In 1926 she joined the SPD and was active in the "Working Group of Socialist Teachers". After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists in 1933, Herdler was dismissed from school for political reasons and became unemployed. From 1937 to 1945 she was able to work as a pharmacist's assistant. At the end of the Second World War she had to leave Silesia .

In 1945 Herdler became headmistress in Berlin-Kreuzberg . In the first Berlin election in 1946 , she was elected to the city ​​council of Greater Berlin . In the next election in 1948 she ran unsuccessfully and left Berlin in 1949.
