Catharina Roodzant
Catharina Roodzant-Glimmerveen , known as Catharina Roodzant (born October 21, 1896 in Rotterdam as Catharina Glimmerveen ; † February 24, 1999 ibid), was a Dutch chess player .

On January 2, 1918, Catharina Glimmerveen married David Roodzant, then 25, whose family name she adopted. The marriage had three children. He died on February 27, 1958 in Rotterdam.
The daughter Ivy, born in 1921 and a chess master from Rotterdam in 1983, was married to the chess author and writer of chess compositions Henk Mesman senior.

Roodzant was Dutch women's chess champion in 1935, 1936 and 1938. She played in 1937 (10th-16th place) in Stockholm and in 1939 (7th place) in Buenos Aires for the women's world chess championship . When the Second World War broke out , she returned prematurely from Buenos Aires to Europe. With the Dutch women's team, she took part in the 1957 Chess Olympiad in Emmen . On the occasion of her 100th birthday in 1996, she was interviewed for the sports program of a television station of the Nederlandse Omroep Stichting . She was a knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau .
