Catherine Mouchet (born August 21, 1959 in Paris ) is a French actress .

Life

Catherine Mouchet studied philosophy and then acting at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique . She then played for several years on French theater stages before making her screen debut in 1986 in the leading role of Thérèse in the eponymous historical drama Thérèse, directed by Alain Cavalier , alongside Mona Heftre and Jean Pieuchot . The film itself received critical acclaim and won several film awards. For example, when he was awarded the French César Film Prize in 1987, he received six awards out of ten nominations, with Mouchet being named Best Young Actress for her portrayal of Therese von Lisieux .
