occupation

Anything but Ordinary is a French social comedy by the directing duo Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache . It is about two heroes of everyday life who, with their tireless commitment, prove that each and every one of us can contribute to making our society a little more humane.

The film celebrated its world premiere as a graduation film at the 2019 Cannes International Film Festival . The German theatrical release is on December 5, 2019.

action

The film tells the true story of two men who are inspired by the will to make the world better for themselves and for others. In their work with autistic young people in Paris, Bruno and Malik - one Jew, the other Muslim - perform small miracles every day. Across social boundaries, the two succeed in using a lot of commitment, sensitivity and humor to form a community from many different personalities in which each individual has the chance to grow beyond himself.

Because the health system has no solution other than lock-up for the particularly difficult cases, Bruno and Malik work with all the tricks to outsmart the system. Young people from problematic Parisian districts are also recruited as helpers, and no great emphasis is placed on professional training, because everyone is welcome who is willing to do the nerve-wracking job. That doesn't always go well, but when something goes badly wrong and the particularly difficult protégé Valentin, who always wears head protection because he hits his head against the wall, wanders through the city alone at night, everyone is immediately part of the search . With infinite patience, Bruno takes care of Joseph, who would be able to do a job but always get himself into trouble because he likes to pull the emergency brake on the metro.

Bruno quickly finds a solution for almost all problems, except for his private life, because every date is abruptly ended by an emergency call, and for the inspectors of the health authorities, who screen his club for unprofessional and grossly negligent behavior.
