Catherine Shepherd (actually Katrin Schäfer ; born October 28, 1972 ) is a German writer .

Life

Katrin Schäfer grew up in Oranienburg near Berlin, studied business administration at the University of Gießen and then worked for banks in Frankfurt am Main and Düsseldorf.

Catherine Shepherd began publishing on Amazon's self-publishing platforms for e-books ( Kindle Direct Publishing ) and paperbacks ( CreateSpace.com ) in 2012 . In addition, she published the books in the German book trade through the self-founded Kafel-Verlag. Catherine Shepherd says she has sold more than 1,000,000 copies of her books through Amazon.de and other e-book shops.

She lives with her family in Zons am Rhein.

Catherine Shepherd became known for her "Zons crime novels", which are characterized by the alternation of narrative levels between the medieval and today's Zons. The novels are therefore a mixture of the genre of the historical novel and the crime novels and thrillers .

The fourth and fifth volumes in the series with the titles Auf den Flügel der Angst and Tiefschwarze Melodie (Amazon annual bestseller 2015) also achieved number 1 among Amazon bestsellers. In April 2016, the sixth volume in the series followed with the title Seelenblind (Amazon annual bestseller 2016).

In 2014 the English translation of her first volume was published under the title Fatal Puzzle . In November 2015, Catherine Shepherd published the first volume of a new crime series about the special investigator Laura Kern with the mother of the crow . The title was number 1 in the Amazon Kindle e-book ranking for 50 days and number 1 in the bestseller list of the Bild newspaper for two weeks . The first volume of her third series about forensic specialist Julia Schwarz with the title Mooresschwärze also reached number 1 on the Amazon Kindle Charts and number 1 on the Bild newspaper's bestseller list .
