Cavalier house

The Cavalierhaus is a listed building in the district of Alexisbad in the Harz, which belongs to the town of Harzgerode in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located in the Selketal in the center of Alexisbad at the address Kreisstraße 6. It is registered in the local register of monuments as a cavalier house . A little further south of the building, on the other side of the investments of Selketalbahn flows the Selke .

Architecture and history

The half-timbered house was built around 1810, according to other information in 1825, on a cross-shaped floor plan. It was built directly opposite the ducal pavilion and was used to accommodate guests of the ruling house.

In 2000 the building was bought by the operator of the neighboring Hotel Habichtstein . After the renovation in 2005, it will be used as part of the Hotel Habichtstein.
