The Hotel Habichtstein is a listed hotel in the district of Alexisbad in the Harz Mountains, part of the town of Harzgerode in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located in the Selketal at the address Kreisstraße 4. The building is registered as a hotel in the local monument register. Immediately south of the hotel is the Alexisbad train station of the Selketalbahn . A little further south, on the other side of the narrow-gauge railway, the Selke flows .

Architecture and history

The hotel was founded around 1880/90 as Hotel Försterling and was designed as an elaborately designed spa hotel. The ground floor of the building, designed in the style of historicism , is a massive construction. The upper storey, on the other hand, was built in half-timbered construction . The elongated building is divided into two projections . The risalites are each provided with a steep gable . Originally the hotel still had mid-sized buildings and a surrounding arcade on the ground floor. However, both were removed during renovation work.

The neighboring Cavalierhaus is part of the hotel complex .
