Centaurea raphanina subsp. raphanina is a subspecies of the plant species Centaurea raphanina from the genus Centaurea .
features
Centaurea raphanina subsp. raphanina is a perennial rosette hemicryptophyte that reaches heights of 3 to 5, rarely up to 20 centimeters. The rhizome is thickened. The leaves are arranged in a basal rosette, interrupted lyre-shaped and pinnate with a large end section, entire margins, ruffled matt and sometimes bald. The heads, arranged in twos to fourths, have a diameter of 12 to 20 millimeters. The flowers are pink or purple in color. The marginal flowers hardly shine. The appendage is a spiked tip or a short thorn. It is 1 to 6 millimeters long, crescent-shaped or triangular and with entire margins, or has a few eyelashes or small spines on both sides of 0.5 to 2 millimeters in length.
The flowering period extends from April to July.
The chromosome number of Centaurea raphanina is 2n = 20.
Occurrence
Centaurea raphanina subsp. raphanina occurs in the south of the Kardägäis . The subspecies grows in Phrygana , limestone crevices and on sandy coasts. In Crete it is found at altitudes from 0 to 2000, rarely up to 2300 meters.
