The Central Cebu Protected Landscape is 18 km west of Cebu City , the capital of the province of Cebu , on the island of Cebu in the Philippines . It was originally established as a nature reserve on September 15, 1937 on an area of 153.93 km² with the entry into force of Proclamation 202. On March 27, 1971, when Proclamation 835-A came into force, its protection status was extended to a national park, but the area was reduced to 118.94 km². Since 2007 it has been part of the Central Cebu Protected Landscape Nature Park, which was set up in accordance with the guidelines of the National Integrated Protected Areas System (NIPAS). It includes Sudlon National Park , the Kotkot and Lusaran River Watershed Forest Reserves and covers an area of 283.12 km². It is surrounded by two buffer zones of 1.28 and 6.6 km².
The flora of the national park is very diverse and includes 200 plant and tree species that are endemic to the Central Visayas . The fauna in the national park includes a number of rare species such as the Philippines tube nose bat ( Nyctimene rabori ), the red-vented cockatoo ( Cacatua haematuropygia ), the Rotnackenliest ( Todiramphus winchelli ), the Schieferkopfbülbül ( Ixos siquijorensis ), the Black Shama ( Copsychus cebuensis ) and the four-color - mistletoe ( Dicaeum quadricolor ).
