Toledo City is a large city in the Province of Cebu on the island of Cebu in the Philippines . It has 170,335 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who live in 38 barangays . It belongs to the third income bracket of the communities in the Philippines and is described as partially urbanized .
It is located on the west coast of the island of Cebu on Tanon Strait , opposite the city of San Carlos City on the island of Negros . Its neighboring communities are Balamban in the north, Minglanilla , Cebu City and Naga City in the east, and Pinamungahan to the south . The topography of the city is described as mountainous except for a small stretch of coast. East of Toledo City is Central Cebu National Park and Sudlon National Park , both of which are home to many endemic animal and plant species.
