Poro is a municipality in the Province of Cebu in the Philippines .
It is located together with Tudela on the island of Poro , one of the Camotes Islands . The name of the city is derived from the Waray word puro , which means island. Only in the city is the language Porohanon - or Camotes Visayan - spoken, which is very similar to Cebuano . The feast day of Poro is celebrated on the 3rd Friday in January every year.
