Cephalon, Inc. was an American pharmaceutical company . The company, founded in 1987, was taken over by the Israeli pharmaceutical company Teva in 2011 .

In 2008, Cephalon had approximately 2,800 employees in the United States and Europe. The company had offices in West Chester , Pennsylvania, Salt Lake City, Utah, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Guildford, England, Munich, Germany, and Maisons-Alfort, France. The company was located in Frazer, Pennsylvania.

In 2005 the European pharmaceutical company Zeneus was bought. In February 2010 the acquisition of the Swiss pharmaceutical company Mepha was announced. On October 14, 2011, Cephalon was taken over by the Israeli company Teva Pharmaceutical Industries , which also distributes the products.
