The ChAI-33 ( Russian ХАИ-33 ) is a single-engine, single-seat UL flying boat . It was developed by students at the Kharkov Aviation Institute (now Kharkiv) and first flew in 1979.

In 1980 it was modified again for the 50th anniversary of the institute and was then given the new designation ChAI-33M . The flying boat was only built as a single piece.
