Chad Michaels (* 20th March 1971 ) is an American drag queen and professional Cher -Imitator. He was a finalist in the fourth season of RuPaul's Drag Race and won the first season of the spin-off RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars .

Life and work

Michaels grew up in San Diego . His drag mother was called Hunter and when Michaels was 22 years old, he first styled him as Cher. He began performing in drag in 1992 at Dreamgirls Revue in San Diego. His dragname was initially Brigitte Love. After a show at "An Evening at the Cage" in Las Vegas , which required that the performers be introduced by their male name, Michaels decided to use this permanently as a drama name. Michaels produces and moderates the Dreamgirls Revue, in which RuPaul's Drag Race candidates appear again and again . Morgan McMichaels, a contestant of the second regular season and the third season of the spin-off RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars is Michaels' Dragdaughter.

In 2002 Michaels made a guest appearance on MADtv for the first time as Cher impersonator. In 2009 he played as Cher in Kath & Kim . In 2012 he appeared in the fourth season of RuPaul's Drag Race , in which he played Cher in the Snatch Game Challenge and finally reached the final; in the first season of RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars He Won; and in the third season of RuPaul's Drag U as a professor / mentor. He appeared as a guest in the eighth season and as Cher in the episode Cher: The Unauthorized Rusical of the tenth season of the regular show, as well as in the following three AllStars seasons. In 2015 he played a Cher imitation in Jane the Virgin and in 2 Broke Girls . In 2019 Michaels went on a burlesque tour with Farrah Moan, a candidate for the ninth season of RuPaul's Drag Race , based on the film of the same name , in which Cher and Christina Aguilera played the main roles, who played the two drag queens on this tour. In 2020 Michaels appeared in RuPaul's series AJ and the Queen with an appearance on the ABBA song Waterloo , which Cher had covered on her album Dancing Queen in 2018 .
