action

The nine-year-old Tim and his mother Sarah are taken to a cinema by the family man Brad and receive instructions from him to take a taxi back. After the movie, Sarah wants to call a taxi, but a taxi pulls up just then. The mother gets into the taxi with her son, but the two are kidnapped - instead of being taken home - to the taxi driver's house, Bob. Once there, Bob kills Sarah. Tim is forced under the name "Rabbit" (English for rabbit ) and under threat of violence by the serial killer Bob to serve as a slave for him. After an attempt to escape, Tim realizes that he is on the prairie far from the city and that no one can help him.

As a teenager, Tim was given the task of collecting the press releases of the missing women he killed in an album and burying their bodies . Furthermore, he is forced by Bob to get to know the human body by studying books. Bob wants Tim to find the next victim from a local college yearbook. His random choice falls on Angie, who is then kidnapped by Bob and taken to his house. Bob terrorizes the intimidated Tim until he injures Angie with a knife as requested by Bob. Bob also forces him to have sexual intercourse with her. Since Tim is still intimidated and he doesn't want to hurt Angie any further, the two pretend to have had sex and Tim murdered her. Tim buries the supposedly dead Angie with the hope that she can escape at a suitable moment. A little later he asks Bob if he could take part in a "hunt" for women to buy Angie time. Once in town, Tim refuses to look for another victim. Bob notices that a cry for help has been written on the cab's doors in red lipstick. On the drive back, angry Bob tells him that he has recorded his alleged murder and sexual abuse of Angie and that he wants to watch the video with him. Bob finds out that Tim didn't kill Angie. When Bob arrives at home, he tries to murder Angie. However, the girl manages to cut Bob's Achilles tendon with his box knife. A little later, Tim comes to her aid, murdered Bob with a stab in the throat and buried his body next to his victims.

Tim then drives to his parents' house in town, where he meets his father Brad and his new wife Marie. He also learns that he has a half-brother. Tim confronts his father with a letter he found in Bob's home, which reveals that Bob is Brad's brother. Brad set him up to kill Tim and his ex-wife Sarah. As a result of this confrontation, a fight breaks out between Brad and his son Tim, whereupon Tim fatally injures him. Startled, Marie calls the police and informs the officers that a burglar has murdered her husband. Tim then drives to Bob's house, as this is the only place he can find refuge.

criticism

"Jennifer Chambers Lynch makes her weak first work ' Boxing Helena ' and the tired thriller ' Under Control ' forgotten and with 'Chained' delivers a deeply gloomy, grippingly staged and disturbing horror story about a brutal murderer of women."
