The Chakma script (also Ojhopath ) is an Abugida that is used to write the Chakma language .

The script is somewhat similar to the Burmese script , but the inherent vowel is ā , a long A. With consonant clusters , the consonants are usually written at an angle, similar to the Kannada script , and sometimes they also form ligatures .

Chakma has its own punctuation marks. The Bengali digits are used for numbers.
