Chalong Rat Expressway

The Chalong Rat Expressway ( Thai : ทางพิเศษ ฉลอง รัช ; pronunciation : [ tʰaːŋ pí-sèt ʧà-lŏŋ rát ]) is a toll city ​​highway in Bangkok that is designed as an elevated road . It has six lanes over the entire length of 18.7 km.

The route begins at 5.5 km of Ram Inthra Road ( ถนน รามอินทรา ) in the Bang Khen district , it leads in a south-westerly direction in the Huai Khwang district via Lad Phrao Road ( ถนน ลาดพร้าว ), Pracha Uthit Road ( ถนน ประชาอุทิศ ) and the Rama IX Road ( ถนน พระราม ๘ ). From there, continue south along Ramkhamhaeng Road (ถนน รามคำแหง, Bang Kapi district ) and Phattanakarn Road ( ถนน พัฒนาการ , Suan Luang district ). It ends near At Narong Road ( ถนน อาจณรงค์ ) and Sukhumvit Soi 50 in Bang Na district , where it joins the Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway .

This urban highway was built to relieve traffic on Ram Inthra Road and downtown areas such as Lad Phrao Road, Rama IX and New Petchburi Road. It also relieves the Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway.

This motorway was opened in 1996.

In 2003 the Rama IX Cross was opened to connect the Chalong Council with the Si Rat Expressway .
