Huai Khwang ( Thai ห้วยขวาง , hûaj kʰwǎːŋ ) is one of the 50 districts (Khet) in Bangkok , the capital of Thailand , and is located northeast of the city center and east of Thanon Vibhavadi Rangsit ("Vibhavadi Rangsit Road"). The neighboring districts are clockwise from the north: Chatuchak , Wang Thonglang , Bang Kapi , Watthana , Ratchathewi, and Din Daeng .
history
The district was established on an area that previously formed part of Phaya Thai district . In 1978 border adjustments were made to the neighboring districts of Phaya Thai and Bang Kapi. In 1993 the new Din Daeng district was spun off.
Attractions
- Thailand Cultural Center ( ศูนย์ วัฒนธรรม แห่ง ประเทศไทย , Thailand Cultural Center ) - a venue and consists of two auditoriums and an open-air stage that are used for events all year round. The cultural center was built with the support of Japan and inaugurated on October 9, 1987. It can be reached with the Bangkok Metro (Station: "Thailand Cultural Center").
- Ratchadaphisek Road - Area with large shopping centers (including Central Plaza Grand Rama 9), well-known discos and massage studios.
- Royal City Avenue ("RCA") - an area with a lively nightlife and many bars

The Bangkok subway runs along the western border of the district and has six stations here: Phetchaburi , Phra Ram 9 , Thailand Cultural Center , Huai Khwang , Sutthisan and Ratchadaphisek .
Huai Khwang Subway Station is at the intersection of Ratchadaphisek with Prachasongkhro and Pracharat Bamphen Road. From here, numerous entertainment complexes can be reached within walking distance. From the Phra Ram 9 and Thailand Cultural Center stations there is a connection to the main depot of the Bangkok subway, which is located immediately to the east.
