Prawet ( Thai : ประเวศ ) is one of the 50 khet (districts) in Bangkok , the capital of Thailand . It is located in the extreme southeast of the city along Thanon Phatanakhan ( Phatanakhan Street ).
geography
The Prawet district is bounded in the north by the Bangkok-Aranyaphrathet railway line, in the east by Khlong Ta Phuk (also the border with the neighboring province of Samut Prakan), in the south by Khlong Bang Na (also the border with the neighboring province of Samut Prakan) and in the west by the Khlongs Khlet, Thalad and Bueng.
The neighboring districts are clockwise from the north: Saphan Sung , Lat Krabang (in Bangkok), the Amphoe Bang Phli of Samut Prakan Province , and the Khet Bang Na , Phra Khanong and Suan Luang .
history
Thailand's new international airport, Suvarnabhumi International Airport, is located in the neighboring Bang Phli district of Samut Prakan Province ( Changwat ) . The government is therefore planning to merge Bang Phli with the Amphoe Bang Sao Thong (also Samut Prakan Province) together with the Khet Prawet and Lat Krabang to form a new Nakhon Suvarnabhumi Province .
