Thung Khru ( Thai ทุ่ง ครุ ) is one of the 50 districts (Khet) in Bangkok , the capital of Thailand .
geography
The neighboring districts are clockwise from the north: Council Burana , Amphoe Phra Pradaeng and Amphoe Phra Samut Chedi of Samut Prakan Province , Bang Khun Thian and Chom Thong .
history
Thung Khru was formed from part of the Burana District Council. This was announced on October 14, 1997 and came into effect on March 6, 1998. The name of the district was taken from Khwaeng Thung Khru, which is now one of the two sub-districts.
Products
The district is known for its Bang Mot mandarins ( ส้ม บางมด in Thai ). Both Thung Khru and Chom Thong each have a sub-district called Bang Mot , so both districts benefit from the fame of the mandarins. ( See also web links)
