Wang Thonglang ( Thai วังทองหลาง ) is one of the 50 khet (districts) in Bangkok , the capital of Thailand .

The neighboring districts are clockwise from the north: Lat Phrao , Bang Kapi , Huai Khwang and Chatuchak .

history

The district was established on November 21, 1997 by merging Wang Thonglang Sub-district and part of Khlong Chan of Bang Kapi District , and also part of Lat Phrao Sub-district into a total area of ​​19.205 km². On March 11, 2002, the district boundary between Wang Thonglang and Lat Phrao was corrected, so that Wang Thonglang is only 18.905 km² today.

Despite its name, Lard Phrao Road does not go through the district of the same name , but a few 100 meters south of it. It starts at Thanon Phahonyothin ( Phahonyothin Street ) and ends in Bang Kapi .

There are two stations on the Bangkok Metro , the Bangkok subway: Phahon Yothin and Lat Phrao. The Lat Phrao Subway Station is located between Thanon Ratchadapisek ( Ratchadapisek Street ) and Thanon Phahonyothin. A park-and-ride service has also been set up here.
