Nong Khaem ( Thai : หนองแขม ) is one of the 50 khet (districts) in Bangkok , the capital of Thailand . Nong Khaem forms a suburban district in the far west of the urban area.
geography
The neighboring districts are clockwise from the north: Thawi Watthana , Bang Khae , Bang Bon , Amphoe Krathum Baen of Samut Sakhon Province , Amphoe Sam Phran and Amphoe Phutthamonthon of Nakhon Pathom Province .
history
The name of the district consists of two Thai words Nong which wetland means and Khaem meaning reed ( Phragmites Karka ), a plant that describes how the environment looked here once in the past.
The district was established as Amphoe Nong Khaem in 1902. In 1938 he became a King Amphoe of the Amphoe Phasi Charoen , only to be raised again to the status of Amphoe 20 years later. The 1972 administrative reform made him a khet of Bangkok . In 1998 the eastern part of Nong Khaem was added to the newly established district of Bang Khae .

Facts
- On February 15, 1972 the Thai President Foods was founded, which from 1973 in a factory in Khet Nong Khang Phlu in the Nong Khaem district produced the first instant noodle soup of the now world-famous brand "MAMA". After receiving awards for “outstanding high quality food products” in 1982, 1983 and 1984, the old factory in Nong Khaem became too small. A new factory was built in Si Racha , where the complete range of products (including bread and biscuits) has been manufactured since 1986.
