Attractions

  • Taling Chan Floating Market is held on Khlong Chak Phra ( คลอง ชักพระ ) every weekend from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Local products such as fruits, vegetables and fish are sold from the boats. Traditional Thai music is performed live from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The idea for this floating market came from the former governor of Bangkok General Chamlong Srimuang , who wanted to set up a new attraction here in 1987 in honor of King Bhumibol's 60th birthday. Because the floating markets, a traditional way of life in Thailand, have completely disappeared from today's Bangkok life.
