Lak Si ( Thai : หลักสี่ ) is one of the 50 khet (districts) in Bangkok , the capital of Thailand .
geography
The neighboring districts are clockwise from the north: Don Mueang , Bang Khen and Chatuchak in Bangkok, and Mueang and Pak Kret of Nonthaburi Province .
history
The name Lak Si means fourth milestone . The area here was called Lak Si, since it the fourth milestone in the construction of the Khlong Prem Prachakhon ( คลอง เปรม ประชากร ) was in the reign of King Chulalongkorn , was dug (Rama V) to Bangkok with Bang Pa-In to connect . Lak Si was promoted to khet on October 14, 1997 when it was separated from Don Mueang District .

The Chulabhorn Research Institute , initiated by Princess Chulabhorn Walailak , is located on Vibhavadi-Rangsit-Straße and is dedicated to applied research to improve the quality of life of the people in the country. Also in this district is the location of the private Thurakit Bandit University .

The new government complex, opened in 2007 on the occasion of King Bhumibol Adulyadej's 80th birthday, is located on Chaeng Wattana Street ( Soi 5-9) . This is where the Constitutional Court , the Supreme Court, the Supreme Administrative Court, several departments of the Ministry of Justice, the Attorney General, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, the Immigration Service, the Department of Special Investigation , the King Prajadhipok Institute, the Electoral Commission , the National Human Rights Commission and the Chief Executive of the Thai Armed Forces .

Lak Si owns a station on the railway line leading north out of Bangkok, which serves the traffic of the northern railway and the northeast railway of the Thai state railway with the final destinations Chiang Mai , Nong Khai and Ubon Ratchathani .
