Amphoe Bang Kruai ( Thai : อำเภอ บางกรวย }, pronunciation: ʔāmpʰɤ̄ː bāːŋ krūaj ) is a district ( amphoe ) in the Nonthaburi province . The province of Nonthaburi is located in the middle of central Thailand .
geography
Neighboring districts are made clockwise from the north: the Amphoe Bang Yai and Mueang Nonthaburi the province of Nonthaburi . The districts ( Khet ) Bang Phlat , Taling Chan and Thawi Watthana of Bangkok join in the east and south . To the west lies Amphoe Phutthamonthon in the province of Nakhon Pathom .
history
The county was created in 1904 under the name Bang Yai. However, due to its size, it was difficult to manage. Therefore, in 1917, the northern part was split off and made the subdistrict ( King Amphoe ) Bang Mae Nang. Bang Mae Nang was granted Amphoe status in 1921.
On October 19, 1930, the Bang Yai Amphoe was renamed Bang Kruai, at the same time Bang Mae Nang was renamed back to the old name Bang Yai.

There is one commune with "city" status ( Thesaban Mueang ) in the district:
- Bang Kruai (Thai: เทศบาล เมือง บางกรวย ) consisting of the complete tambon Wat Chalo, Bang Kruai.
There are three municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:
- Bang Si Thong (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บาง สี ทอง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Bang Si Thong.
- Plai Bang (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ปลาย บาง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Bang Khu Wiang, Plai Bang and parts of the Tambon Maha Sawat.
- Sala Klang (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ศาลา กลาง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Sala Klang.
There are also three " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)
- Bang Khanun (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล บาง ขนุน ) consisting of the complete Tambon Bang Khanun.
- Bang Khun Kong (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล บาง ขุน กอง ) consisting of the complete tambon Bang Khun Kong.
- Maha Sawat (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล มหา สวัสดิ์ ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Maha Sawat.
