Heiligenborn is a west-southwestern district of Bad Laasphe in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Siegen-Wittgenstein ( Germany ).
According to the main statutes of the city of Bad Laasphe, the district of Heiligenborn belongs to the Banfe district . Today there are only four houses in the village, in which a total of five people live.
Geographical location
The Heiligenborn settlement is located in the southern part of the Rothaar Mountains on the southeastern border of the Siegen-Wittgenstein district. Heiligenborn is around 10 km (as the crow flies ) from Bad Laasphe in the west-south-west direction. The place is surrounded on all sides by a forest area. Heiligenborn can only be reached via two narrow streets, one of which is to be expanded from 2009.
The Schwarze Langenbach flows through Heiligenborn and feeds a pond there and is a tributary of the Ilse . This in turn flows away around 850 m southeast of the village of the holy Ilsequelle located on the Rothaarsteig . Above the source is the compass at 694.1 m above sea level. NHN the summit of the highest mountain in the urban area of Bad Laasphe. The Lahn rises around 2.5 km west of Heiligenborn .
The Kleiner Rothaar fairy tale hiking trail is also located near Heiligenborn .
history
The name Heiligenborn derives from the Ilsequelle, which was already known in the Middle Ages as a holy Born beyond the national borders. Heiligenborn was built as a canon settlement around 1700 . Around 1850 the residents sold their property to the Princely Administration in Laasphe and left their homes, most of them emigrated to America .
Heiligenborn was an independent municipality until the Sauerland / Paderborn Act was implemented on January 1, 1975.
Today the village of Heiligenborn, in which there are still four houses and the old school used as a residential building, and the surrounding forests are privately owned.
