history

The place was first mentioned by name in 1492. In 1538 Rückershausen belonged to the Wittgenstein family, just like its neighboring town Rüppershausen. In 1662 the place belongs to the mayor's office in Feudingen. The place now consists of three houses. In 1845 he was assigned to the Erndtebrück office.

Since the implementation of the Sauerland / Paderborn law on January 1, 1975, Rückershausen has belonged to the city of Bad Laasphe.

The village is a popular winter sports center with an extensive network of trails, downhill slopes and the possibility of ski jumping on the small and large Lahntalschanze . Since 2010 the small Lahntalschanze has been converted into a year-round ski jump. Both ski jumps are operated by the Rückershausen Ski Club, founded in 1951. The association is active in the disciplines of cross-country skiing, ski jumping, inline skating, running and hiking.
