Amtshausen is a district of the city of Bad Laasphe in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district in North Rhine-Westphalia . The place has about 90 inhabitants.

geography

Amtshausen is the northernmost town in the Bad Laasphes urban area and is located in a high trough at 455 (outflow of the Rüppersbach to the south) to 500 m above sea level, framed by some of the highest mountains in Wittgensteiner Land . The Ebschloh ( 686.3  m above sea  level ) rises in the southwest, the Rammelsberg (637.2 m) in the northwest and the Hohe Haupt ( 650.8  m ) in the southeast . In the south, the smaller oak tree (575.3 m) closes the hollow.

Amtshausen is around 10 km (as the crow flies) from the core city of Laasphes.

history

According to local researchers, the name "Amtshausen" (earlier spelling: including Amkeßhaußen, Amptshausen ) goes back to the Old High German name Ambert . In 1344 the place was mentioned for the first time in connection with the parish of Feudingen. The place was subject to tithing at that time by those of von Bicken . In 1538 Amtshausen belonged to the Wittgenstein family. From 1662 the place belongs to the mayor's office Feudingen. With the year 1731 a membership in the Feuding quarter can be proven. In 1845 the place became part of the Erndtebrück office.

The most decisive event of modern times was the construction of the railway line in the 1880s. Hundreds of workers were employed in the mountainous terrain.

Amtshausen was an independent municipality until the Sauerland / Paderborn Act was implemented on January 1, 1975.

In the village there were room rentals, a bakery with a grocery store, a shoemaker, a carpenter and an inn.

Infrastructure

Amtshausen is located on a connecting road between Rüppershausen and the Erndtebrücker district of Schameder . The Obere Lahntalbahn passes in the immediate vicinity of the village. The stop, which was opened in 1954, was closed again in 1962 due to low traffic. The next stopping points have since been Leimstruth and Oberndorf (Kr. Wittgenstein) . The telephone code of Erndtebrück (02753) also applies to participants from Amtshausen.
